Questions

Do I need to speak Chinese to use these?
Not at all. Every page has full pinyin (pronunciation guide) above each Chinese character, plus English translation. Many of our readers are parents who don't speak Chinese — the books are designed so you can learn alongside your child.
What age should my child start?
Our Sprout level (ages 4-5) is a great starting point for most children, even if they're older. It uses simple sentences with 5-8 characters per page. If your child already knows some Chinese characters, try Bud (ages 5-6).
What format are the books?
Digital PDF — download instantly after purchase. Read on any tablet, computer, or phone. You can also print them at home for a physical copy. They look beautiful on iPads.
How are the levels structured?
Each level follows the YCT (Youth Chinese Test) framework. Seedling starts with pictographic characters your child can "see" (山 looks like a mountain). Each level adds vocabulary naturally through stories, not drilling. Characters from earlier levels appear again in later books for natural review.
Can I get a refund?
Since these are digital products, we can't offer refunds after download. But if you're unhappy for any reason, email us and we'll make it right.
